We have identified an issue with custom and embedded dashboards across customer domains. As such, we have disabled embedded dashboards for all customers while we investigate further. Rest assured, this is considered a major priority and is being actively worked on. We will share updates here as we progress in our investigation and resolution.
Update 09/17/2024 3:40 PM: Our team is actively investigating the root cause, and we’ve determined that this was an isolated incident where data from a deprecated (non-active customer data) domain was inadvertently visible during a recent migration process. This issue was limited to the Topics and Lessons report (tab), and only a very small number of domains viewed the affected report. We are continuing to validate and check all other dashboards to ensure no further exposure occurred.
To mitigate and prevent this from happening again, we are implementing the following steps:
- Comprehensive Audit and Testing: While our dashboards are routinely tested, we are conducting an additional, in-depth audit of all current dashboards. This includes both manual and automated validation of data segmentation and filters to ensure complete accuracy and alignment with client-specific data access rules.
- Enhanced Validation on Top of Existing Processes: We already maintain a robust validation process for our dashboard migrations, but we are further strengthening it by adding additional layers of both manual and automated checks. This will include verifying that filters and data segmentation are properly configured before publishing any new or updated reports to production, ensuring that visibility issues do not occur.
- Ongoing Monitoring and Reporting: We will continue to increase monitoring of our systems, proactively checking dashboards on a routine basis to catch and resolve any potential visibility issues before they impact data access.
Additionally, we will provide a detailed report on our findings and the corrective actions we are implementing. Your privacy and security remain our top priority, and we are committed to preventing this issue from reoccurring.
We understand that you will need to report this internally and we are here to assist in any way you need. Please let us know if you require any further details or assistance during your reporting process.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we work through this.
Update 09/17/2024 5:32 PM: Our team has successfully applied a fix to the issue at hand and all related dashboard features have been restored. Thank you for you patience and understanding.
